The newest Ram 1500 generation introduces an all-new engine lineup in the 2025 model year. Well, almost all-new. The tried and true Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine is still standard equipment for the Tradesman and Big Horn trims, offering drivers 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque for a towing capacity of up to 8,100 pounds when properly equipped. Meanwhile, the remaining trims feature the all-new Hurricane engine in either a standard or high-output variant. The Hurricane engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.0L straight-six engine. Underneath the hood of the Laramie and Rebel trims, you'll find the standard-output Hurricane engine, which offers an impressive 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. Compare that to the 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque offered by the discontinued 5.7L HEMI V8. Meanwhile, the Limited and all-new Tungsten trim both feature the high-output variant, which is tuned to provide 540 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. While offering more power than the outgoing V8 engine, the Hurricane engine offers more fuel efficiency and fewer tailpipe emissions with the smaller engine size and two turbochargers. 

Though technically a separate lineup from the Ram 1500, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger is every bit of the legendary truck with an innovative twist. The Ramcharger is Ram's first-ever venture into the realm of electric vehicles with an advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain. Under the hood of the Ramcharger sits the aforementioned Pentastar V6 engine. Meanwhile, an onboard generator is mounted to the engine, converting its mechanical power into electrical energy, which is then used to power the vehicle. The front wheels are driven by a 250-kilowatt (kW) electric drive module mounted to the axle, while a 238-kW EDM powers the rear wheels. A 92-kilowatt-hour rechargeable battery pack powers the Ramcharger's EDMs. By sending power through an onboard generator, there is no mechanical linkage between the Pentastar engine and the EDMs, affording more efficiency. By selecting a drive mode, you can choose to conserve gas by running solely on battery power, preserve battery power by running solely on gas, or power the wheels with both the Pentastar engine and the battery for maximum performance. The Ramcharger's powertrain offers drivers up to 663 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, which translates to a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds and a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds. Thanks to the modernized LED-illuminated ' RAM ' emblem on the grille and upgraded front fascia, it's easy to distinguish between a traditional Ram 1500 and the Ramcharger. 

In addition to its new powertrain options, the Ram 1500 offers an array of new features, such as an upgraded front fascia, new interior color options, reshaped headlights, standard LED lighting, and, of course, the all-new, ultra-luxurious Tungsten trim. However, the most impressive new quality for the Ram 1500 is the introduction of an array of new high-tech features. The 2025 Ram 1500 is the most technologically advanced one yet. At the heart of the new Ram 1500's advanced technology is the Uconnect 5 infotainment software, which is displayed on a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen, while a 12-inch touchscreen is optional, and a 14.5-inch touchscreen is standard on the new Tungsten trim. Uconnect 5 features some of the most advanced vehicle technologies in today's market, such as five distinct user profiles, a fully customizable home screen, over-the-air software updates, wireless Apple/Android smartphone integration, Amazon Alexa virtual assistant with home-to-car function, available TomTom navigation with live traffic updates, and much more. In addition to the Uconnect 5 software, the 2025 Ram 1500 can also be equipped with an all-new front passenger touchscreen. Spanning 10.25 inches, the optional passenger touchscreen features access to navigation, entertainment, and vehicle cameras to provide the ultimate co-piloting experience. Another standout feature is the 12-inch digital instrument cluster. Standard on the Laramie trim and all that follow, the digital gauge cluster is fully customizable to the driver's preferences with more than two dozen display options. Another high-tech display is the digital rearview mirror, which uses a rear-facing camera to provide an unobstructed view of the road behind you. Finally, the 2025 Ram 1500 uses technology to keep you safe. Standard driver assists include adaptive cruise control, blindspot monitoring with trailer coverage, active lane management, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and more.
